Mayor and Council of the Borough of Brooklawn

cordially invite you to visit

“Brooklawn’s 9/11 Memorial and Monument of the Delaware Valley”

At Brooklawn Memorial Park

South Hannevig & Maude Avenues

Brooklawn, Camden County, New Jersey

The Borough of Brooklawn, on behalf of the entire United States of America and those whom enjoy freedom and liberty worldwide, invite you to come to this truly historic and memorable site.

“Brooklawn’s 9/11 Memorial and Monument of the Delaware Valley” contains a collection of artifacts from the three disaster sites of September 11, 2001.

An 8,438 pound steel beam from the World Trade Center disaster, rising 9’11” from its Pentagon shaped base is the overpowering object of the site. This steel beam had been donated to our project by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

A limestone block, damaged in the attack on the Pentagon, sits atop a pedestal to one side of the WTC beam. This artifact was donated to the project by the United States Department of Defense, Washington Headquarters Services, The Pentagon.

Soil and stone artifacts from near the Flight 93 crash site in Stonycreek Township (near Shanksville), Pennsylvania sit atop a pedestal on the other side of the WTC beam, encapsulated in a transparent housing for viewing. Those artifacts were donated to our project by the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Flight 93 National Memorial.

This two-fold site shall serve as a Memorial to those who have lost their lives on that tragic day in American history ten years ago and to include those who have their lost their lives since; both from injuries and/or medical conditions related to their exposures at the disaster sites as well as to the members of the Armed Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice during the War on Terrorism.

The Monument portion of this site shall be dedicated to both those who serve as First Responders across the country – whom on a daily basis risk their own lives to protect and serve others and their property; who routinely “run in while most others run away” from emergency situations, as well as to those currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America – whom without their dedication to duty, honor and country, allow us all to enjoy our freedoms and our way of live.

Further inquiries should be directed to Captain of Police Steven R. Saymon via eMail (ssaymon@brooklawnpolice.com), Phone (609.313.4443) or Fax (856.456.4661).
